Ine De Greef graduated medical school at the Catholic University of Leuven in 2018, and continued her education as a resident in internal medicine which was initiated at the University Hospitals Leuven and the Stuivenberg Hospital in Antwerp. In 2021, she was accepted for an internship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and started her doctoral research in the Leuven IBD group at KU Leuven.
Her research, in collaboration with postdoctoral researcher Sare Verstockt, focuses on components both outside and inside of the intestinal wall to assess their potential role in post-operative recurrent Crohn’s disease. She received a BIRD research grant for this project
