Abdominal imaging

Didier Bielen graduated as MD at the KU Leuven, Belgium (1984) and became radiologist in 1988. After working for 10 years in a private hospital he re-joined the University Hospitals Leuven as an abdominal radiologist in the Radiology department, with special interest in colorectal imaging, including virtual colonoscopy, and gynaecologic imaging. In 2002 he obtained a master after master degree in Hospital Management and in 2008 he received his PhD degree on the clinical and economical aspects of virtual colonoscopy in a screening program for colorectal cancer. Since 2009 he is appointed Professor of Medicine at the KU Leuven, Belgium.

His scientific work focuses on colorectal cancer and endometriosis. He is (co)author of more than 70 peer-reviewed papers and book-chapters. More info: look at be.linkedin.com/in/didierbielen.
