Infusion Unit
—
The unit was created in 2000 to respond to the increasing need for intravenous therapy in inflammatory disorders with the advent of biological treatments.
The infusion unit provides ambulatory care to gastroenterology patients only (90% with IBD) and operations are restricted to IV therapy [infliximab (Remicade®), IV iron (Injectafer®), vedolizumab (Entyvio®), novel biologicals]. By selecting patients and treatments, we are striving to optimize the infusion process and safety and to minimize unnecessary procedures. The unit has 9 reclining chairs for infusion, 2 nurses operate the unit supported by the medical staff.
We open Monday through Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm.
