Julie Vanderstappen

IBD dietician

Julie Vanderstappen started as a clinical dietitian at the University Hospital of Leuven in 2013. She gained experience in several fields of clinical nutrition with a special interest in gastro-enterology and abdominal surgery. Since 2021 she is a specialized inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) dietitian for the Leuven IBD unit. Together with her colleagues of the IBD nutrition team,  she focusses on both personalized nutritional care of patients and research on nutrition in IBD. In 2023 she became a member of the dietitians committee of the European Crohn and Colitis Organisation.
